Version: (using KDE 4.0.0) Installed from: Ubuntu Packages OS: Linux At startup of Superkaramba shows a message involving kross architecture
is your error similar to the one reported here? https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/kdeutils-kde4/+bug/183289
Yes, they are related. You need to install kdebase for KDE4 to get the necessary Kross components. Unfortunately, Kubuntu doesn't seem to include them for now. A work around is to start SuperKaramba from a terminal and use the '--usefallback' switch.
I thought Kross is part of kdelibs?
I am having this errors too using SVN version of KDE4 so it is not related only to Kubuntu as I'm using gentoo...
Superkarama depends on the krosslibraries for python/ruby themes (i.e. kdebindings), I think it should have a runtime check and give a somewhat more meaningful error messages.
I'm confirme this problem (but my system is mandriva 2008.1) at the start, i've gat one message how say the theme (oxygenleopart) can't start because i've need kross composants. Or i've got this elements !!! So i can't use any theme...
capucine: then just install krosspython (located in kdebindings) like suggested?
I personally tried installing libkrossruby0 and libkrosspython0. Still get this message, when trying to add some themes (actually, I've tried three, and they all refused to add to Desktop): ... SuperKaramba cannot continue to run this theme. One or more of the required components of the Kross scripting architecture is not installed. Please consult this theme's documentation and install the necessary Kross components. ... Note: Kubuntu Intrepid, KDE 4.1.3 from unsupported repos ( http://www.kubuntu.org/news/kde-4.1.3 )
Hello! Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but this project has been unmaintained for many years so I am closing this bug.
