This must be a bug because it does this on different platforms such as Linux. Just not on Windows.
Comment 2 George Goldberg 2008-09-21 19:31:27 UTC
It doesn't work for me on linux, using svn trunk r863215.

Yes, please, add this. At least when using the keyboard shortcut (defaults to Ctrl-L)

As of dolphin 1.2 (KDE 4.2.0) there are actually two distinct shortcuts for this - F6 marks makes editable, and ctrl+l which only makes the location bar editable

This behavior is not very intuitive since in most browsers the use ctrl+l (focus address bar) also selects the text and hence allows faster editing.

I'm closing this issue to WORKSFORME, F6 behaves consistent with Firefox + Windows Explorer, Ctrl + L is a toggle switch for the breadcrumb + editable URL.

If you want that Ctrl + L behaves like F6, please adjust your shortcuts in your environment. Thanks!
