Version: (using KDE 4.0.0) Installed from: Debian testing/unstable Packages My laptop screen resolution is 1920x1200 (simple configuration, no alternative resolution modes enabled, no secondary screen enabled...) The background image (if selected) and the plasma panel width is limited to 1600x1200; the extra 320x1200 region has a white background and is otherwise useful desktop space. This appears to be a bug, but is otherwise usable. Curiously, a second "add widgets" tab appears in the top right corner (in addition to one at the 1600 border). Thank you to all of the KDE developers. Keep up the good work to get the bugs out of KDE4 to get it up to production quality! ------------------- A possibly related (and more serious) bug is that running krandrtray puts the display into 640x480 mode, that only restarting the X server can restore.
this is an upstream bug; we have a patch for it in qt-copy, but it's not quite ready for Qt itself. hopefully soon, though. the source of the problem is xrandr 1.2 changing what it exports via the xinerama api. --xorgDevs.coolness; in any case, i had the same issue on my laptops.. the qt-copy patch fixes it. so it's not a plasma bug in that sense. it is a problem, but getting fixed. i can't upstream bugs out of bugzilla, however =(
