Version: (using KDE KDE 4.0.0) Installed from: Mandriva RPMs OS: Linux Settings for modifying msn accounts under tabs 'Account Preferences' and 'Connection' are not saved.
*** Bug 155863 has been marked as a duplicate of this bug. ***
which settings have you tried to change specifically? Knowing this will help us determine if it's just a problem with those settings or the whole thing.
*Basic Setup* everything tested is remembered not tested: MSN Passport ID (is there a reason it's not editable?) *Account Preferences* nothing is remembered not tested: "Let other Jabber users see my Jabber account" (because no Jabber account is in the list), the checkbox is forgotten *User Info* everything tested is remembered not tested: "Display Picture", but the checkbox is remembered. *Contacts* everything is remembered all was tested *Connection* everything except the last checkbox (base port for webcam) (maybe because I don't have a webcam) is remembered Oops, I was wrong about the Connection tab
Partially confirmed in KDE 4.0.99. The only thing that is NOT remembered is the connection tab if the settings I set are actually the defaults. If I try to change a port number or check the use HTTP checkbox, the settings are saved. However, this doesn't apply for the "base port for webcam" checkbox. This is the ONLY option that is never saved.
Right, the port for the webcam box is not saved. Maybe due to webcams not working at all, but it should be saved anyways. Tested with svn trunk r836553.
We've completely replaced the current MSN implementation with a new MSN implementation which If you continue to experience this bug after testing the new implementation (which can be gotten from our subversion repository or with the KDE 4.2 Beta 1 release), PLEASE, open a new bug rather than reopening this bug. Thank you for your time and efforting in helping us find and fix problems in Kopete.
