Version:           0.9.2-final (using KDE 3.5.7, compiled sources)
Compiler:          Target: i586-mandriva-linux-gnu
OS:                Linux (i686) release 2.6.22.12-desktop-1mdv

My camera is well connected. i go to the camera menu for selecting my canon powershot S3IS (displayed in list), doesn t work. but if i go to the detecting menu and i do the automatic detect (in french) then everything is OK.

Sound like a gphoto2 Canon driver problem...

hmm, its in the ptp2 driver, but it is there. There is no special handling for this camera, if it does notwork, 100s others would not either...

I suspect that some magic in digikam does not handle it correctly on second attachment in the Camera Menu. Do you store both name/path pairs?

Closing some old bugreports that are related to old digiKam version, and that have not received answers for two years now.

If you think the reports are still valid, feel free to re-open them, but please provide updates and do not just open them without giving feedback.

With digiKam 5.0.0, this problem is not reproducible.
I close this file now. Don't hesitate to re-open if necessary.
