Description Thibaut Cousin 2008-01-12 10:51:52 UTC
Version: 1.0 (using KDE 4.00.00 (KDE 4.0.0) "release 1.2", compiled sources)
Compiler: gcc
OS: Linux (x86_64) release 2.6.22.13-0.3-default

I'm trying to associate .tex files with Kile (still a KDE3 application). It doesn't work: I can select Kile in the file association dialog, I get the little "Updating configuration" dialog when I click "Apply"... but that's all. The association isn't done, and when I return to the file association dialog, Kile has disappeared.

It seems to revert to default immediatly.

Thanks for your attention.

I'm having the same problem. Any associations I add are lost. Very frustrating.
Comment 2 Thibaut Cousin 2008-02-20 06:37:53 UTC
It seems to work better now, but it's still far from perfect, especially when you want to associate a file type with a non-KDE4 app (KDE3 or non-KDE app).

My TeX files are now associated with Kile (I don't know why), but I still hit the same bug for other types...
