Version: (using KDE KDE 3.5.8) Installed from: Fedora RPMs Compiler: gcc 4.1.2 OS: Linux If monitors has been put in stand-by, kscreensaver attempts to start but freezes 5-10 seconds later. I think kscreensaver should stay quiet if the monitor is in stand-by, turned off, or disconnected. Is this difficult to check before attempting to launch graphics? kpowersaver people told me that kscreensaver does not report its settings to DCOP. Again, Idon't think it is a good idea to negotiate the settings between the two programs. To reproduce, install kpowersave and put the monitor in stand-by before kscreensaver is scheduled to launch.
This is a feature and it should not have any negative impact.
