Description Szabolcs Illes 2008-01-09 22:24:26 UTC
Version: 3.97.2 (using KDE Devel)
Installed from: Compiled sources
OS: Linux

This is my fstab entry:

/dev/disk/by-id/usb-SAMSUNG_SP2514N-0:0-part1 /media/usbdisk-250gb xfs user 1 2

when I switch on my usb hard drives, it appear in "new device notifier", but when I click on open with dolphin it fails to mount it with:

"An error occurred while accessing 'Volume (xfs)', the system said:
mount: can't find /dev/sdb1 in /etc/fstab or /etc/mtab"

I can confirm that the new name of device is /dev/sdb1.
(dmesg: sd 3:0:0:0: [sdb] 488397168 512-byte hardware sectors (250059 MB))

mount works form cmd line works

This bug (or feature) is pretty annoying (still happens in 4.0.4)

Is there any update on this?

I switch from Ubuntu 6.06 to 8.04. I have an sd reader in my X41 Lenovo laptop and I work on it (I save everything and work on it). I use sleep mode intensively and everytime I wake up, my sd card is remount and auto link are lost. If I reboot, files can't auto open because link is lost from last session. Everything was working fine with 6.06.

Very annoying...

I think this is a solid issue.

Works for me on KDE 4.2.
