I can't reproduce this bug. Is it 100% reproducible for you? Can you provide the necessary steps?
> I've tried to search duplicate images in my pictures folder. Gwenview crashed. hmm have you run it under plugins menu? Angelo
Hmm, I'll try to reproduce it. I did following: I have downloaded version of art.gnome.org (about 3,5 gigs of pictures), it has different resolutions of the same pictures. I'll try to clear thumbnails cache and search duplicate again.
Yes, I run it under plugins menu
Aurelien, in the case it should be a kipi-plugins issue.

Oleg which version of kipi-plugins are you using?
zsh 1040 % LANG=en apt-cache policy kipi-plugins kipi-plugins: Installed: 0.1.4-1+b3
I tried to reproduce the problem again. I cleaned ~/.thumbnails and ~/.kde/cache*/kipi-findduplicate folders and tried to find duplicates again. All was fine. By the way, why find duplicates plugin cannot create fingerprints for some files?
gilles?

So the image loader is limited to file format supported by Qt. Gilles
So, do you have any idea why gwenview crashed? If no then I think you can close the bug. Of course, if you know what was wrong - you can fix it :) > This plugin use Qt API to open images. So the image loader is limited to file format supported by Qt. I checked images - they are broken, gwenview doesn't show them too, so it is not an issue. Offtop: where can I find the roadmap of gwenview for KDE4?

Gwenview is now part of kde-graphics so the roadmap is the one of kde4 ;)
No, there were several archives (tar.gz) and .svg files in the folder.
> No, there were several archives (tar.gz) and .svg files in the folder. Gilles, could it be a problem for the plugin?
I also got this crash which looks like the same as http://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=120522 Debian testing/unstable, kde 3.5.8, gwenview 1.4.2. Linux 2.6.24 I had a video on my home dir so, the xine plugin come in at gwenview start. Then I went to /usr/share/openclipart/png/people/ in there I double click on a folder and gwenview crashed. I have been unable to repeat the crash so far.
Merging with bug 120522. *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of bug 120522 ***
Not reproducible using digiKam 7.0.0 beta1.
