Description Maciej Pilichowski 2008-01-04 15:31:30 UTC
Version: (using KDE KDE 3.5.8)
Installed from: SuSE RPMs

Take a look at kpdf for example, fullscreen is very useful but then you cannot get to the menu. It would be useful to have on-demand menu.

For example, you are at fullscreen, you press alt-f, menu appears (like dialog for example), with File opened, you navigate menu as usual but as soon you choose entry in menu, menu hides.

that's the whole point of the dashboard view: pull it up, interact, if you launch something it disappears.

the only "gotcha" right now is that kickoff in 4.0 can't display on the canvas, but with widgets-on-canvas in 4.1 it can. so this wish becomes a reality without us really doing anything in 4.1 since we planned for exactly this use case from the start =)

lancelot already can display directly on the canvas, so if you used that you'd get this behaviour today.

Great news then! Thanks for comment, Aaron.
