Version: 3.5.8 (using KDE KDE 3.5.8) OS: Linux After installing a new theme with superkaramba there is a pop-up window saying ["Neue Sachen" wurden hinzugefügt]. This sounds quite strange to my ears and should IMO replaced by [Neues Design wurde hinzugefügt].
Actually this sounds really strange to me as well. But "New Stuff" is a more general framework for downloading designs, wallpapers, language files, map textures, ... It might be a good idea to think about break this naming scheme and use a more individual approach. I.e. name the button after the case domain it resides in.
I agree. For the meantime the string should be changed to something in proper German like "Neues Material wurde hinzugefügt" or "Neues Dekoelement wurde hinzugefügt".
Dekoelement would be misleading - how can you name "dekoelement" e.g. new language for some educational application?
"Neue Daten" would be the best idea I had if I thought about the general term. It is not more precise or anything but it is a bit more "hey, you can meet my parents someday".
„Neue Erweiterungen“ wäre vielleicht noch etwas passender. Da der Bugreport für die deutsche Sprache ist, brauchen wir uns nicht auf Englisch unterhalten ;-) Ich denke, wir sollten die Diskussion auf die Mailingliste oder ins Diskussionsforum verlegen. Grüße Thomas
Es wurde nun alle Vorkommen von "Hot New Stuff" etc. als "Neue Erweiterungen" übersetzt und entsprechend abgeändert. Die Änderungen werden ab KDE 4.2 zu sehen sein. Im Zweig KDE 3.5.x habe ich keine Änderungen eingespielt, weil es keine weiteren Veröffentlichungen von 3.5.x mehr geben wird.
