Version: (using KDE KDE 3.97.0) Blended plasmoid would be "transparent" for any mouse movement, clicks, etc. It would be useful for widgets, like clocks, when you set it once for good. Blended widgets should be configurable (and unblended) from the outside (plasma widget dialog?). Also useful way to prevent "damage" to the desktop. Note: it is not the same as locking plasmoid (my previous reports), both wishes are companions to each other, but not duplicates.
Do you mean that user cannot interact with "blended" plasmoid but can with the "locked" (bug #154518) plasmoid (who cannot be moved) ???
Indeed, it is this wish. Of course, indirectly user still should be able to do anything -- "unblend" for example.
ugh. no. this simply won't happen. plasma is not meant to be a tweaker's wet dream, it's meant to be a usable piece of software that provides a simple and consistent of interaction mechanisms.
Aaron, simple survey: * how many times per year do you interact with clock (resize, move, rotate, etc)? a) 0 b) 1-5 c) 6-12 d) 13-100 e) over 100 If you ask me -- (a). So it is a matter of usability.
I still think this would be useful -- or fixing the locked state. The problem is this, that in locked state some plasmoid can be moved, some other configure -- you cannot tell/guess what kind of interaction is set for this plasmoid which lead to mess. I am afraid of clicking accidentally on plasmoid because I can predict what will happen.
