Description Grósz Dániel 2007-12-20 22:33:50 UTC
Version: (using KDE Devel)
Installed from: Compiled sources
OS: Linux

Open the Add widgets dialog and drag a plasmoid to the desktop. Then click on the red X in the window to remove it. The picture of the plasmoid remains on the desktop until repaint.

works perfectly here. which plasmoids did you test with? (even just one that exhibits this behaviour should be enough) i'm guessing this isn't a plasma issue, but yet another driver/composite screw up.
Comment 2 Jason Stubbs 2007-12-21 13:54:49 UTC
Using the nvidia driver? I haven't seen it happen with plasma applets, but I don't close them very often. Does minimizing an application also leave the window shown sometimes?
Comment 3 Grósz Dániel 2007-12-21 14:25:59 UTC
No nvidia driver, some integrated SIS video card with default driver. I don't use composite, there is no 3d acceleration. It happens with any plasmoid on the desktop, only if I remove it from within the Add widgets window.
Comment 4 Grósz Dániel 2007-12-21 14:26:49 UTC
Minimizing window doesn't leave the vindow shown.
Comment 5 Adam Tulinius 2007-12-23 12:42:55 UTC
Can't reproduce using 3.97.1 release 6.5 from the opensuse build-service, with the nvidia-drivers.
Comment 6 Jason Stubbs 2007-12-23 12:50:50 UTC
I can reproduce this with at least the kickoff menu icon on the desktop.
Comment 7 Jason Stubbs 2007-12-29 10:43:10 UTC
Hmm.. can't reproduce any more. Grósz Dániel, does it still happen with recent builds for you?
Comment 8 Grósz Dániel 2007-12-29 19:33:29 UTC
No, it works for me too now.
Comment 9 Jason Stubbs 2007-12-30 04:12:07 UTC
Closing for now. Reopen if it ever happens again please.
