Description Reiterer Alex 2007-12-20 14:00:11 UTC
Version: 0.9.3-beta2 (using KDE 3.5.8, Gentoo)
Compiler: Target: i686-pc-linux-gnu
OS: Linux (i686) release 2.6.23-gentoo-r3

In DSLR one of the main problems is the contamination of the CCD sensor and therefore the visible spots on the images. In Photoshop exists a tool for reducing these spots. It would be a very usefull extension of Digikam oder Kipi if such a tool will be integrated into the programm.

Thanks.

Cannot Hot Pixels Correction tool be used for that?
Comment 2 Gerhard Kulzer 2007-12-21 08:54:02 UTC
The Inpainting plugin can do that to some extent. As long as the spots are on a evenly colored area (like the sky), it will remove it. I doesn't work with structured backgrounds.

But Inpainting you have to apply by hand to spots one by one. I suppose
OP wants to create "mask" which could be used on whole image and used
for all photos from particular camera.

This is the goal of HotPixels tool already implemented.
