First I like to thank you for the great work you and the KOffice Team have done. As a poor student I can't spend a lot of money into office suites but I need such programs... 

I think there is no possibility to set a default directory for saving. If there is the possibility to do that then I didn't found it...

There has long been the possibility to globally configure the 'Documents' 
directory which all KOffice apps use by default.
