Description Ehsan Sadeghi 2007-12-14 15:07:01 UTC
Version: (using KDE KDE 3.97.0)
Installed from: Unspecified

Currently desktops in the KDE environment all have the same configurations. I would like to propose separating the desktops configurations so each can have different configurations, e.g. I like to use one desktop for development so I would like to have one set of tools on the panel, on another I would like to have the whole environment in Farsi, the menu, editors, etc..

This can be done by using different configuration files, one for each desktop environment. The file can be in XML or better in RDF.

On moving from one desktop to another desktop the whole must be refreshed using the desktops configuration file.

The purpose of this suggestion is so that the system can have better productivity.

This is one goal of the new "Activity" feature under development in plasma.
I'm closing as "fixed" even if it is under development. Probably with 4.2 it will be more usable for desktop users.
