With the konsole versions in kde4, we can no longer hide the scrollbar or the tab bar, making a perfectly transparent konsole window impossible.

This worked in kde3.

Yes you can.

1.  Go to Settings -> Edit Current Profile (or right click anywhere in the terminal and select Edit Current Profile)

2.  Go to the 'Tabs' tab

3.  Change the Tab Bar display to 'Always hide tab bar'

4.  Go to the 'Scrollback' tab

5.  Select the 'Hidden' option

6.  Click OK
