Compiler:          gcc 4.2.2 
OS:                Linux

tarballs 3.97 aka RC2 used:
If you scroll down large folders in konqueror,kmail or konsole
i think this is a general issue and not an application specific issue, because you can reproduce it with every kde4 app.

the scrolling is not really snappy, it is some kind of delayed.
This doesn't happen in kde 3.5.8 at all.

I have a nvidia card 8500 GT so this shouldn't be the bottleneck
on a quadcore 2.4GHZ pc

fixed, .config and .local in home directory needed a new creation now it works fine again

I have the same problem with 4.0.0 from kubuntu with my geforce, deleting .local and .config didnt help. i also use the closed source nvidia drivers

try with a test user if it happens there too, on my system this behaviour is gone.
