Version: (using KDE Devel) Installed from: Compiled sources It seems as if konsole just pastes text when I middle-click the terminal, no matter where the cursor is. However it does hover links as if they are clickable. Either don't hover links or make it possible to open them in a browser with one click - without the need to go through a context menu.
Until recently links did open with a single left click. This behaviour proved highly frustrating for several users because: 1) They often wanted to select blocks of text or words inside a link, without activating the link. 2) They wanted to paste text into the terminal window without caring where they clicked within it. 3) They wanted to give focus to the terminal window without activating links that happened to be in the pseudo-random place which was clicked. For these reasons the single-click to open functionality was removed.
Only 2) is valid for middle-click. I'm changing this to a wishlist bug, please add a config option to allow to select a mouse button for clicking a link. As I said I find it rather irritating that I can't click on a highlighted link top open it in a browser.

Hmm, you're probably right, this should "just work". But as there's no way to read a users mind you're basically stuck. There's no standard mouse button to use, the only option I can think of is using something like Ctrl+Click, which is hard to discover and somewhat awkward too. Oh and don't expect any patches from me, waaaaay too little time for hacking :)
