Version: (using KDE KDE 3.5.8) Installed from: Ubuntu Packages KDE does not have a GUI to select the default soundcard. It is necessary to go to Konsole to make the selection with these commands: $ cat /proc/asound/cards $ asoundconf set-default-card X "X" symbolizes the number of the card in the list.
In each restart KDE it selects by defect the card that it wants.

@user: So should this bug be closed?
KDE 3 is only going to have security updates, but until KDE 4 consolidates, the best thing is to leave it open in case to any developer it wanted to realise a tool for it.
I think this bug should be close now since KDE 3.5.x is feature frozen and won't be receiving any more features.
I agree with Jonathan. Arts mantainer should decide.
Arts is no longer developed and has been unmaintained for quite some time - more than 2 years. With phonon as the replacement for arts in KDE4, we're closing out all the arts bugs in Bugzilla since there is no chance of them being fixed. Thanks
