Description David Anderson 2007-12-04 09:36:57 UTC
Version:            (using KDE KDE 3.5.8)
Installed from:    Fedora RPMs
OS:                Linux

When I log into an IMAP account via kmail, it always then proceeds to download the whole of every message - even though I have kmail configured not to download attachments (and presumably it should only be downloading headers anyway, not even the body).

Hence it takes a long long time, especially as there are often hundreds of messages. If I instead use sylpheed-claws, then it is very quick as sylpheed doesn't do this.

Qt: 3.3.8
KDE: 3.5.8-7.fc7 Fedora
KMail: 1.9.6 (enterprise 0.20071012.724442)

I forgot to mention what the IMAP server is. Going to the port gives this:

* OK [CAPABILITY IMAP4REV1 LOGIN-REFERRALS STARTTLS AUTH=LOGIN] host.name.example.com IMAP4rev1 2001.315rh at Tue, 4 Dec 2007 08:30:11 +0000 (GMT)

I can not reproduce on 3.5.10. When I click attachment, kmail downloads at that time. You might have selected to download messages for offline. Have you created dimap account?

Please let me know account type and steps.

Hello! Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but this version of Kmail has been unmaintained for many years so I am closing this bug. Please try using the latest version of Kmail to see if your issue persists. If it does, please submit a new bug in "kmail2". Thank you!
