Description MIcah Gersten 2007-12-03 20:08:37 UTC
Version: 1.9.6 (using KDE KDE 3.5.8)
Installed from: Ubuntu Packages
OS: Linux

I would like to use a filter to move messages into another folder, but I want them to show as deleted in the IMAP mailbox until I expunge them so that I can read them first. Also, I would like to just have the deleted messages remain until I expunge them. I set the IMAP account to not auto delete messages, but it continues to do so. I verified the setting.

Thanks,
Micah

Sorry, I don't quite understand this bug report.
This is a bug, not a feature request, right?
What exactly is happening which shouldn't happen?
Do you mean "expire" by "expunge"?

No, it's deleting things from the IMAP folder when I delete them automatically even though I unchecked the option.

Can you please confirm that you mean when you disable option "automatically compact folder(expunge deleted msg)" and create filter to move mail to some folder. And instead of marking mail as deleted after moving, it is moving the msg to trash. Is this what you mean?
In that case can you please try a work around? Instead of moving the mail, just copy it and when you read from inbox, you can delete it.

Please report back your findings after trying the suggestion I gave.

Hello! Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but this version of Kmail has been unmaintained for many years so I am closing this bug. Please try using the latest version of Kmail to see if your issue persists. If it does, please submit a new bug in "kmail2". Thank you!
