Description Sam Davies 2007-12-03 02:00:35 UTC
Version: 1.4.5 (using KDE KDE 3.5.8)
Installed from: Ubuntu Packages
OS: Linux

I currently use amarok over ssh to play music remotely. However, it would be much more elegant, faster and cleaner if amarok were to implement MPD as a playback engine. There are other frontends for mpd but none have anything approaching amarok's configurability and ability to deal with large playlists. This would open up a whole new host of uses for amarok, such as icecast streaming through mpd, remote control of a music server, and continuing music playback even if X crashes or is restarted. If this was implemented, amarok would actually be THE perfect music player :-)
