Version: (using KDE KDE 3.5.8) Installed from: Ubuntu Packages OS: Linux Hi, I was just on Google Docs and though "god, this sucks". Then I figured, hey, why can't I just log on to it with KOffice or something. Since I figured it'd need Googles collaboration, I thought, why not just make some open standard for online document editing? It doesn't seem that hard, though I'm not really a programmer. More and more apps go online, I think it would be nice if KOffice would be one of the pioneers with this thing, since it surely will get more common as time goes. Here are my concepts of how it'll work: (1) Server based. All participants connect to a server, choose what document to work on, and get going. The advantage being that anyone can put up a dedicated, private or open, server anywhere and anytime. (2) IM-based. Some sort of linkage to an IM-like system. It could be like logging into an IM account using KOffice, then the program will send instructions to the other clients via the IM thingy. The advantage being ease of use of course. Well, I'm not that good at putting it to words, but what do you think?

Thank you for your bug report or feature suggestion. The "KOffice" application suite is no longer maintained, and all tickets are now closed. We recommend to switch to the "Calligra" application suite, which has replacements for all unmaintained KOffice applications: - KWord was replaced with Calligra Words - KPlato was replaced with Calligra Plan For more information, see http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Calligra_Suite (This is an automatic message from the KDE bug triaging team)
