Version: 0.9.2 (using KDE KDE 3.5.8) Installed from: Ubuntu Packages OS: Linux I would like to see *.3gp and *.mp4 files in digiKam - I manage pictures and videos taken from serveral digital cameras and mobile phones in my family and I can't see videos recorded on mobile phones. Since now I just copy them in shell without digiKam but digiKam doesn't show them in albums. It shouldn't be hard to implement such feature because other KDE video players like kmplayer, kaffeine, noatun already support such video files.
Have you tried to add them under the mime types in the configuration?
Thanks for suggestions. Setting additional mime types in configuration helped and now it works as it should. Sorry I didn't check it there before I submitted a report. But these mime types can be set by default (*.3gp *.mp4 *.3GP *.MP4). And I found that *.MOV and *.AVI mime types were in pictures not in movies where they should be.
mp4 is already by default in settings. 3gp no. I will fix it Gilles

digiKam 5.4.0 bundles will use QtAV framework instead Qt5Multimedia to thumb and play video. The Slideshow tool will also support video as well. QtAV use ffmpeg codecs. It's multi-platform and will always available in OSX, Windows and Linux bundles that digiKam team provide. For Linux packagers, you will need to turn on video support at compilation time and solve QtAV dependencies...
