Package: kmail
Version: 2.0
Severity: normal
Installed from: RPMs

ERROR 550 xxxxxx.com not a gateway...

kmail is unable to send mail through my server at work. The server requires you to send your username to it before it sends a mail. This was configured for anti-spam purposes. In the netscape messenger they have an option for "outgoing mail server user name" when I fill this in with my username (ddaeschler) my mail is sent correctly if not it gives me the same error that kmail does. I didn't know wheter to put this in bugs or wishlist but im sure alot of servers require this authentication so that spammers cannot use them to send mail.
