Steps to reproduce: 
ctrl-shift-f to start a search
The found text is highlighted dark red
Scroll down using the scrollbar.
The highlighting remains in the same place although the results have scrolled up.

On scroll down with the scrollbar, the highlighting is removed.

More information.  It moves with the scrollbar if the buffer is scrolled to the end and the found text is on screen.   If this is scrolled offscreen, the highlighting sticks to the top/bottom line of the screen when it passes it.

In addition, if the scrollbar is on the left hand side of the screen, the highlight is painted as if it were on the right, on top of the scrollbar
