Version:           1.6.6 (using KDE 3.5.8-7.fc8 Fedora, Fedora release 8 (Werewolf))
Compiler:          Target: x86_64-redhat-linux
OS:                Linux (x86_64) release 2.6.23.1-42.fc8

I tried the transparent background but when trying to get rid off it, sometimes it succeeds and mostly not. If I open the settings and there transparency is not checked, press apply - it's still transparent.

KDE3 is not maintained currently.  Reopen if you notice this issue with a KDE 4 version.
