Description Marcus Habermehl 2007-11-01 18:38:33 UTC
Version: (using KDE KDE 3.5.8)
Installed from: Compiled From Sources
Compiler: gcc 4.2.1
OS: Linux

ark doesn't work right with tar-1.19.

If you create an tar archive and add files to the archive, tar reports an error.

The Gnome archiver file-roller has the same problem. Here is a patch for file-roller.

Maybe it's possible to port the patch to ark. It looks like tar has changed the file handling for the update option.

This is a regression from tar 1.18-->1.19. I reported this bug to tar lists, and they patched the related C file in their cvs repository.

I think that this bug can be closed.
