Description Maciej Pilichowski 2007-11-01 09:58:33 UTC
Version: (using KDE KDE 3.5.8)
Installed from: SuSE RPMs

Consider such "address" -- it is in the "to" edit-box field:
joe@doe <joe.doe@gmail.com>

KMail does not recognize that the first part is just a name, not an address and refuses to use such data.

PS. I didn't notice that before -- this report could a duplicate of:
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=83487#c9

I put comment number on purpose since the discussion is changing direction.
Comment 2 Josh Berry 2009-04-06 01:46:34 UTC
Confirmed on SVN trunk r949397.

This is not a duplicate -- it's a different issue from bug 83487.

Thank you for taking the time to file a bug report.

KMail2 was released in 2011, and the entire code base went through significant changes. We are currently in the process of porting to Qt5 and KF5. It is unlikely that these bugs are still valid in KMail2.

We welcome you to try out KMail 2 with the KDE 4.14 release and give your feedback.
