Description kdebugs4reinhard 2007-10-31 21:00:28 UTC
Version: (using KDE KDE 3.94.0)
Installed from: Compiled From Sources
Compiler: gcc version 4.2.2

OS: Linux

How/where can I dig in cmake logs similiar to config.log to analyze the problem? (shit cmake - sorry, I want autotools back!!!)

BTW.: I think, it's a good style to put a http link where to find a missing package.

googling for "Blitz" is not that easy.

Old version.
Please use the version you find in the subversion of KDE, trunk/kdesupport/qimageblitz.
Comment 3 kdebugs4reinhard 2007-10-31 21:33:33 UTC
There is no tar-ed version for a PRE-release candidate? BAD!
Comment 4 kdebugs4reinhard 2007-10-31 21:42:31 UTC
Somebody should create a tar release of blitz because simple-structured admins want tar files.
Comment 5 Dirk Mueller 2007-10-31 21:43:42 UTC
I think the confusion comes from the error message, which talks about Blitz, while we actually want QImageBlitz

Comment 6 Dirk Mueller 2007-10-31 21:50:35 UTC
if you're using openSUSE, try the libqimageblitz-devel package from openSUSE buildservice KDE:KDE4
Comment 7 kdebugs4reinhard 2007-10-31 21:55:20 UTC
Guys, if you want to release KDE4 you should create a REAL source tar package from QImageBlitz AND put in cmake a http reference to the page were simple-structured-admins like me will find it.
Comment 8 kdebugs4reinhard 2007-10-31 21:58:59 UTC
Thanks for the openSUSE buildservice hint. But I don't like rpm's - NO chance to get a pure bzipped, clean, vendor-independent tar package?
Comment 9 Andreas Pakulat 2007-10-31 22:02:59 UTC
QImageBlitz is not under KDE's control, you should talk to its maintainer about creating a new real release.
Comment 10 kdebugs4reinhard 2007-10-31 22:10:15 UTC
Ups, I thought it's under kde control because repository is kde.org?
Comment 11 Andreas Pakulat 2007-10-31 22:47:53 UTC
What I meant is that its release schedule and the creation of tarball's is not under the control of the KDE release team - AFAIK at least.
Comment 12 kdebugs4reinhard 2007-10-31 23:39:11 UTC
ok, I used http://websvn.kde.org/trunk/kdesupport/qimageblitz/blitz/

Help for others:
svn checkout svn://anonsvn.kde.org/home/kde/trunk/kdesupport/qimageblitz

But many other simple-structured-admins should get a tar file. Please dear KDE developer, YOU can make much more pressure on the QImageBlitz maintainer to release a new version before KDE4 comes out. Otherwise you might get more stupid questions like my questions.
Comment 13 marc heiler 2008-03-24 23:15:20 UTC
Agree on this. Right now i try to compile kdebase 4.0.2 and it fails with
blitz. It would (have) saved me some time if there was a http link to blitz (now i have to google, still not sure where to get it) ;)
Comment 14 marc heiler 2008-03-24 23:21:00 UTC
For all of those that dont want to google, "blitz" is on http://sourceforge.net/projects/qimageblitz
