Version: (using KDE KDE 3.5.7) Installed from: Debian testing/unstable Packages OS: Linux In the preferences for the ICQ account, there is a checkbox for "Hide IP Address". The IP will not be hidden, no matter if this switch is enabled or not. This was tested with two different versions of Kopete. Trillian and Kopete can see the IPs of other Kopete users, even if the checkbox for hiding IP address is enabled.
I cannot reproduce this with Kopete clients Did you reconnect Kopete after you changed the "Hide IP Address"? Also did you restart (not just reconnect) the other Kopete where you see the ip?

It occures in Kopete 0.12.5 and 0.12.6 (KDE 2.5.7) and other versions as well. Maybe it's fixed with 3.5.8? Greetings Thore Sittly
It was fixed with SVN commit 662955 so it is in KDE 3.5.7. I don't know If you correctly understand my question but did you restart the other Kopete too?
> I don't know If you correctly understand my question but did you restart > the other Kopete too? I understand your question, and yes, both Kopetes has been restarted. The problem is present anytime, so both Kopetes were restarted several times. We tested it over a longer time, some weeks, and the IP is not hidden. But in the preferences it is switched on. It seems like the checkbox has no function in this version of Kopete. We are using german locales for Kopete. You can see the IP by using Trillian or Kopete. Thore Sittly
Can you reproduce this with KDE 4.1 or greater?
Works here, if you can still reproduce with KDE 4.1 or greater please reopen.
