Description Torquil Macdonald Sørensen 2007-10-30 17:10:36 UTC
Version: 0.12.7 (using KDE 3.5.8, Debian Package 4:3.5.8.dfsg.1-3 (lenny/sid))
Compiler: Target: i486-linux-gnu
OS: Linux (i686) release 2.6.22-3-686

Sometimes text is not wrapped correctly in the chat window. After sending a sentence of normal text, the text should not appear with a horizontal scrollbar in the chat window, but it happens sometimes.

I am talking about how the text appears in the top half of the chat window after "submitting it". The text I send is a normal sentence, with spaces between the words, it it can be wrapped in the usual fashion.

It seems to happen when the length of the text line is approximately the same as the maximum displayable text width. A horizontal scrollbar appears, and it is only possible to move it 1mm from side to side.

If I make the chat window wider, the scrollbar correctly disappears If I make it thinner it also disappears, because then the last word is wrapped onto the next line.

The expected behaviour is to display the inputted text wrapped, so that no scrollbar appears. The scrollbar should only appear when the inputted text has no whitespace, so there is no way of wrapping it.

Best regards,
Torquil Sørensen

I cannot reproduce this issue with KDE 4.0.99. Does this still happen for you? Maybe you could provide us with a message that triggers this behaviour and/or a screenshot?

Please update to newer version as we don't have manpower to support Kopete in
KDE 3. This bug should be fixed in KDE SC 4.3 or later.
