Version: 0.9.2-final (using KDE 3.5.7, Debian Package 4:3.5.7.dfsg.1-5 (lenny/sid)) Compiler: Target: i486-linux-gnu OS: Linux (i686) release 2.6.21-2-686 after scrolling forward some pictures i get into a video for the first time and it takes several seconds to show the first frame and it's not clear what has happen (since switching images is very fast and videos is a littlllleee more slow) maybe... some indication that digikam's is about to show a video or "loading... video XXX" or show the first frame first and then load the entire video ?
Nadav, Video and Audio playback are fully delegate to a KDE sub-component which is embeded as well in digiKam interface. We don't implement any video/audio player in digiKam. I recommend you to check your system and install another default KDE component to play video. Here i use Kaffeine which run like a charm. Gilles Caulier
i took your advice and changed the default multimedia sub component and now it works great :-) thanks :-)
Nadav, Thanks for the report... Gilles Caulier
digiKam 5.4.0 bundles will use QtAV framework instead Qt5Multimedia to thumb and play video. The Slideshow tool will also support video as well. QtAV use ffmpeg codecs. It's multi-platform and will always available in OSX, Windows and Linux bundles that digiKam team provide. For Linux packagers, you will need to turn on video support at compilation time and solve QtAV dependencies... The 32bits version is under process and will be available at the same place today evening. https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/0BzeiVr-byqt5Y0tIRWVWelRJenM
