Version: (using KDE KDE 3.5.7) Installed from: Fedora RPMs OS: Linux GNOME has an applet that receives messages (via DBUS, either from CUPS or HAL, not sure which) and does really cool things when new printers are added to the system. e.g. Telling you that the new printer was happily configured, and giving you the option to tweak the options on it.
