Version: (using KDE KDE 3.5.8) Installed from: Ubuntu Packages OS: Linux When you type "Enter" to send your message using Jabber protocol, it adds a
(checked with a network sniffer) at the end of the message (always). So there is always a new line between messages...
Unconfirmed yet???
I have had such behavior reported to me (extra, blank lines in my messages) with kde 3.5.8 kopete 0.12.5 in debian sid. His finding would make sense with the behavior I'm having reported. All my jabber connections are encrypted; so packet sniffing isn't particularly helpful.
I face this problem too with kopete 0.12.7. This needs to be solved at the earliest. It is very annoying for the receiver. Also, has anyone tested it on KDE 4's kopete?
This is not only about other messengers. While receiving msgs from other kopete users, kopete itself shows extra lines.
Problem does not persist in KDE4 kopete (kopete says it is 0.50.0 ) Problem also stops happening both way, in kopete 3.5.8 and kopete 4 conversation both parties will have proper newline behavior. Guess kde4 removes additional
from 3.5.8 input. Problem still exist in kopete with 3.5.8
not in kde 4. closing
