When I launch Kopete in Ubuntu 7.10 it loads fine. I created an MSN account which is fine. However as soon as I change the status from offline to online, busy, invisible etc, Kopete always crashes and closes. The KDE crash handler gives the following short description "the application kopete crashed and caused the signal 11 (SIGSEGV)". I also enclose the Backtrace report it produces:
