Version: (using KDE KDE 3.5.7) Installed from: Gentoo Packages OS: Linux Many of my collegues (including myself) have a long mail signature containing their complete address and contact information, which sometimes is up to 10 lines long. With each reply, another copy of a signature is appended to the mail and the list of signatures gets longer and longer. In a long mail thread with many replies, these mail signatures accumulate, such that the whole mail mainly consists of signatures instead of real messages. Such a mail thread would be easier to read, if there were only a limited number of signatures. At least, the composer could analyse the previous mail, which is to be quoted. If the composer wants to append a signature and this same signature is already present in the mail, then this old signature could be deleted and the new one appended to the end of the mail, just as usual.
Did you check smart quoting? I am asking because it is intended pretty much for such purpose.
Yes, smart quoting is most probably the place to implement this feature. But from all I know, it is not supported, yet.
Thank you for your feature request. Kmail1 is currently unmaintained so we are closing all wishes. Please feel free to reopen a feature request for Kmail2 if it has not already been implemented. Thank you for your understanding.
Instead of creating a new feature request, please confirm here if the wishlist is still valid for kmail2
