Version: (using KDE Devel) Installed from: Compiled sources When adding a track to the playlist (or moving a playlist-entry), it would be nice to see when the track will be played. An example: I drag a track from my music collection into the playlist and a little infox box pops up beside the cursor which says "7m 34s" and tells me, that the track would start in 7min 34s if i drop it here. When moving tracks (maybe a whole album) inside the playlist, it should indicate when the first track will be played. So its just the sum of the track-lengths from the currently played song (or the first song, if none is currently played) to the cursor-position minus the already elapsed time from the current track (minus the length of the dragged tracks if they are between the current song and the cursor-position).
this is certainly an interesting idea, but wonder if it is overkill for the UI
If you mean overkill in the sense of a bloated UI, the information could maybe shown in the status bar instead. If you meant load problems, the track-lengths of albums could be pre-calculated (when they are added to the playlist) in order to reduce computation.
