Description Maciej Pilichowski 2007-09-25 16:10:57 UTC
Version: (using KDE KDE 3.5.7)
Installed from: SuSE RPMs

Opensuse 10.2 KDE 3.5.7 works fine.

Opensuse 10.3 (RC1), KDE 3.5.7 (newer revision) does not work correctly. For example I run Konsole, open two tabs, then I want to close Konsole (not a single tab), Konsole asks me if I really want to quit -> yes, the current tab is closed and then I see dialog saying that application is not responding (I am not 100% sure if the app in Konsole, or Konsole itself). In tab there is bare bash running. Nothing fancy.

There is only one 3.5.7 release, so if OpenSuSE 10.2 and 10.3 are using 3.5.7 it should be the same Konsole binary.

In opensuse 10.2 I have revision 12 installed, in 10.3 -- 78.

That must be a SuSE revision number of some osrt, KDE revision numbers will be in the 600000 to 700000 range. I suggest reporting this on SuSE's bug tracker first if you haven't already done so.

Works fine for me, opensuse 10.3 RC kdebase3-3.5.7-86
Comment 5 Maciej Pilichowski 2007-09-26 10:41:46 UTC
Tommi, I also upgraded to 86, problem persists. Please do the following:

1) run Konsole
2) new root shell (in new tab)
3) log in
4) ifconfig
5) switch to the first tab
6) dir
7) quit konsole (via keyboard shortcut)

Robert, ok, I reported this to Novell bugzilla as well, here is the link:

KDE 3 is not supported any longer. And this shouldn't be an issue in KDE4.
