Description mi+kde 2007-09-12 15:31:30 UTC
Version: 1.9.6 (using KDE 3.5.6, compiled sources)
Compiler: gcc version 3.4.6 [FreeBSD] 20060305
OS: FreeBSD (amd64) release 6.2-STABLE

It is currently impossible to have the 8bit-capability configured differently for different SMTP-servers in KMail.

I have 5 such servers configured in "Outgoing Mail", only one of them rejecting 8bit-encoded messages. I would like to use "quoted-printable" _with that server_, and 8bit with all others... The parameters should really be a per-server one.

Same is, probably, true about the other ones: "send now" vs. "send later", and the "domain" -- one may wish to pretend to be a different thing to different SMTP-servers.

Oh, and, of course, KMail should be able to _automatically_ fall-back to quoted-printable (and further down to base64), if an SMTP server rejects 8bit. Perhaps, "auto" or "prefer 8bit" should be another option for the Content-Transfer-Encoding handler.

Thank you for your feature request. Kmail1 is currently unmaintained so we are closing all wishes. Please feel free to reopen a feature request for Kmail2 if it has not already been implemented.
Thank you for your understanding.

Instead of creating a new feature request, please confirm here if the wishlist is still valid for kmail2.
