Description Rolf Eike Beer 2007-09-02 16:30:32 UTC
Version: r707626 (using KDE Devel)
Installed from: Compiled sources
Compiler: 4.1.2 20061115 (prerelease) (SUSE Linux)
OS: Linux

My SMTP server allows AUTH only in STARTTLS mode. "Check what server supports" automatically selects TLS but afterwards I can't select AUTH because it always says "server does not support authentication". Looks like it does only check the server capabilities once. Correct behaviour is to take the capabilities of the server in selected encryption mode (if any) so rechecking in TLS mode is needed.

This bug is for trunk.
Not really for KMail, but generally for the mailtransport library.
Adding Tom Albers to CC list, as he wrote the servertest library.

This has been fixed.
