Description Rich Johnson 2007-08-29 14:58:46 UTC
Version: 1.9.6 (enterprise 0.20070824.704228) (using KDE KDE 3.5.7)
Installed from: Ubuntu Packages
OS: Linux

Application: Kontact/KMail
Version: 1.9.6 (enterprise 0.20070824.704228)
Distro: Kubuntu Gutsy (7.04 w/ the latest updates)
Distro Bug Report: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/kdepim/+bug/135445
...................

After having Kontact/KMail open, if I do a manual download/check of email or my auto download/check of email fires all mail seems to get stripped of all content and headers, which is marked as spam and then forwarded to my trash bin. Email will then have the subject set as "no subject" and the sender and date will be set to "unknown".

I have manually tested my spam filters and they are not the issue. This only occurs after Kontact/KMail has been opened and checked for email once previously. The only solution/work around at this time is to shut off the automatic mail checking and in order to read any new mail that is on my server, I have to close out Kontact/KMail and then restart it.

Here is a copy of the text after this issue occurs
............
Spam detection software, running on the system "ShakaDoobie", has
identified this incoming email as possible spam. The original message
has been attached to this so you can view it (if it isn't spam) or label
similar future email. If you have any questions, see
the administrator of that system for details.

This bug is only specific to the Enterprise branch. 1.9.7 on Debian works fine.
Comment 2 Thomas McGuire 2007-08-30 18:25:25 UTC
This is either bug 121272 or bug 135904, or some new enterprise bug...
Are you using POP3 or IMAP?
Comment 3 Rich Johnson 2007-08-30 21:26:28 UTC
POP3
Comment 4 Björn Ruberg 2010-01-10 23:26:07 UTC
Does this still happen with a recent kmail version?
Comment 5 Andrew Crouthamel 2018-09-04 18:23:39 UTC
Hello! Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but this version of Kmail has been unmaintained for many years so I am closing this bug. Please try using the latest version of Kmail to see if your issue persists. If it does, please submit a new bug in "kmail2". Thank you!
