Description Augustin Renard 2007-08-25 11:32:44 UTC
Version: 0.2 (using KDE 3.5.6, Kubuntu (feisty) 4:3.5.6-0ubuntu14)
Compiler: Target: i486-linux-gnu
OS: Linux (i686) release 2.6.20-16-generic

After having chosen a screensaver in the list, I can click on "configuration" (or something like that - I have set my kde in french ). I configurate the screensaver in the small window which has opened, then I want to click "OK" or "Cancel". Sometimes it works, and sometimes it does not : when I click, I have a black screen, with a session opening dialog ( with command lines ). Then (after a few seconds) I have to open a new session, (with the graphical interface). In fact it is exactly as if I had clicked "Disconnect" in the main menu, instead of "Ok" or "Cancel".

This problem was encountered before having installed the xscreensaver and kscreensaver-extra packets, and after it, too.

I don't know if it can be easily reproduced, for it is a bit unpredictable.

( I'm sorry for my english, I'm better at french... ;) )

1) By "disconnect" you mean "end session"?
2) what screensaver exactly
3) it is always a good idea to try the latest stable version --> 3.5.7

Does this still happen? Does it happen if you use kcontrol instead of systemsettings to reach the screensaver module?

Please Augustin, could you try a more updated version and tell us if you can still reproduce the bug?

The computer on which I use Kubuntu cannot currently be linked to the Internet, and it won't until the end of April. So I'm afraid I cannot try another version now... but I'll do it as soon as I can.

This systemsettings-kde3 from kubuntu has been unmaintained for many years.
