Description Christian Iversen 2007-08-19 20:17:02 UTC
Version: 0.12.4 (using KDE KDE 3.5.6)
Installed from: Ubuntu Packages
OS: Linux

When logged in with the MSN protocol, kopete occasionally gives the message "user _____ is offline. Messages will not be delivered".

This happens only when _not_ sending messages, as trying to send messages to an offline user results in another error message in the chat window itself.

Of course, now when I need to see the message, it doesn't pop up.

I'll add to this report if I can find the exact error message again.

I think this is fixed in a later version of Kopete. If you could confirm whether or not this is true, that would be great.
Comment 2 Pino Toscano 2007-10-18 23:56:19 UTC
This can be confirmed with Kopete 0.12.5 (KDE 3.5.7).
Comment 3 Matteo Croce 2008-02-24 16:17:41 UTC
Confirmed too
Kopete 0.50.1 (KDE 4.0.1 (KDE 4.0.1), Kubuntu packages)
Comment 4 Charles Connell 2008-02-24 23:47:43 UTC
Confirmed with 0.50.50
Comment 5 Stef Louwers 2008-07-07 17:08:36 UTC
I can also confirm this one (kopete 0.50.80).
It happens when someone tries to sign on, but immediately gets disconnected.
Comment 6 Juan C. Tello 2008-11-04 01:33:01 UTC
confirmed Kopete 0.60.2 on Kubuntu 8.10 (KDE 4.1.2).
It seems to happen when someone connects and disconnect immediately.

We've completely replaced the current MSN implementation with a new MSN implementation which If you continue to experience this bug after testing the new implementation (which can be gotten from our subversion repository or with the KDE 4.2 Beta 1 release), PLEASE, open a new bug rather than reopening this bug. Thank you for your time and efforting in helping us find and fix problems in Kopete.
