Description Benno Schulenberg 2007-08-15 20:09:01 UTC
Version: 1.9.7 (using KDE KDE 3.5.7)
Installed from: Gentoo Packages
Compiler: gcc-3.4.6
OS: Linux

When the "From:" line of an email is encoded in UTF-8, clicking on such an email will crash KMail. Please try with the attached tiny example email. It might be that the encoding in this mail is somehow wrong, I can't tell, but even if that were the case, KMail shouldn't crash.

As far as I can tell this started happening with version 1.9.7.

This does not crash for me, the from address is shown correctly.
Please provide a bracktrace, see http://techbase.kde.org/Development/Tutorials/Debugging/How_to_create_useful_crash_reports

I can't reproduce, and there is no backtrace. Closing.
