Description James Court 2007-08-14 12:53:05 UTC
Version: (using KDE KDE 3.5.7)
Installed from: SuSE RPMs

File, check mail command will attempt to download all mail for multiple ISP accounts. With a broadband connection this happens so fast that only the last message is readable. Because of this there is no way of knowing if there was no mail to collect, or if the mail server was not available (except for the last message returned). A method of either trapping messages to a scrollable list, copying them to a log file or popup message boxes would resolve this.

example: my family uses talktalk, onetel and hotmail. Onetel is sometimes not on-line but the "cannot connect to ..." message is usually overwritten by progress from the other providers.

BTW, it is the statusbar, not the progress bar.

Have a look at bug 39097 as well, I think it is almost the same.

Apologies - title should read status bar, not progress bar. Whilst this may be resolved by functional changes that also resolve bug 39097 it is not the same problem. A configurable option to write status messages to a log file, with an overwrite on startup function would ensure that messages are available if required, but without interrupting work flow or foreground presentation.

Thank you for your feature request. Kmail1 is currently unmaintained so we are closing all wishes. Please feel free to reopen a feature request for Kmail2 if it has not already been implemented.
Thank you for your understanding.

Instead of creating a new feature request, please confirm here if the wishlist is still valid for kmail2.
