Version: 0.12.4 (using KDE KDE 3.5.6) Installed from: Ubuntu Packages OS: Linux Hi, I'm using kopete to chat with many of my friends who use google talk. I use kopete version 0.12.4 on KDE 3.5.6. I use the jabber protocol to connect to the Google talk server. When I tried to send files to my friends who use google talk, kopete gives me an error message like this. abilash2006@gmail.com/gmail.4820C572 When they send me files from their google talk, on kopete I receive a confirmation to accept the file. If I accept it, then it gives a similar error too.
Sorry for this report guys. It seems to be a problem with google's restrictions. It work well for other Jabber servers. Please close this bug.
Now I'll mark it as resolved, so that no development time is wasted on this.
Wait, could you tell us what you've done to get around this? Is unsing another proxy like proxy.jabber.org enough?
I have not found any workaround. But the problem is with Google and not with Kopete/Jabber. File transfers still fail for Google chat, but I understood that it is supposed to be reported to Google and not to KDE developers.
