I'm not sure I understand what you mean. If kdevelop crashes normally dr.konqi shows up and you can save a backtrace. You should do that and attach the trace to this bugreport. Make sure you've got dbg-packages for kdelibs and Qt installed before reproducing this problem, else the backtrace would be useless (showing mostly ???) Oh, and btw: I can't reproduce what I think you mean - closing the file which you currently debug.
I tested this a lot of times - crashes constantly. Just repeated this 3 times. Simply stop at BP and press X on the right - crash.
