Description Chris Seufert 2007-07-24 01:29:48 UTC
Version: 0.12.5 (using KDE 3.5.7, Debian Package 4:3.5.7.dfsg.1-1 (lenny/sid))
Compiler: Target: x86_64-linux-gnu
OS: Linux (x86_64) release 2.6.21-1-amd64

Links that are longer than the width of the chat window are word wrapped, however the actual link (ie href) stops and the end of the line, and therefore when u click the link, its broken.
Comment 1 Philip Rodrigues 2007-07-25 01:00:36 UTC
Hrm, I can't reproduce that - when I paste a long link, the chat window gains a horizontal scrollbar, so the link isn't wrapped. Perhaps this is style-dependent? Do you get the same behaviour with a different chat window style?
Comment 2 Chris Seufert 2007-07-26 03:37:05 UTC
Hrmm, i'm using the Gaim Chat window Style. Its the one with the issues.

It seems the Clean style is fine.

the Gaim window sometimes gains a scroll bar on individual messages, but certain characters let it wrap.

Comment 3 Philip Rodrigues 2007-07-29 22:23:43 UTC
Ah, with that link, I see the same (using my own version of the "hacker" style, so it doesn't seem style-specific). I think it's a problem with the line-breaking algorithm. Appears that links can be line-broken at the pipe-symbol. I'll retitle the bug to reflect that.
Comment 4 Chris Seufert 2007-08-02 04:16:35 UTC
Its also a problem with '[' and ']' brackets.
Comment 5 Christopher J. Bottaro 2007-08-06 20:31:05 UTC
I also experience this bug. Can see a pic of it here:

I can reproduce this bug with kopete 0.50.80 from KDE 4.0.99. I tried sending and receiving the link shown in comment #2 and it wraps on the first pipe character.

This bug is still present in Kopete 0.80.2 (KDE SC 4.3.4).

Dear user, unfortunately Kopete is no longer maintained.

Please migrate to another solution, e.g. for Jabber a possibility is Kaidan, for Matrix a candidate is NeoChat.
